Philosophy

The East Longmeadow High School Social Studies Department is committed to providing a comprehensive program that meets the following major objectives:

Development of knowledge – facts, concepts and generalizations in the fields
of history, geography government and civics, economics, and the social and
behavioral sciences.

Development of skills – improving reading, writing, research, analysis, and
evaluation skills in all subject areas.
