Welcome to the East Longmeadow Conservation Commission

It is the Conservation Commission’s primary responsibility to protect and preserve the wetlands in East Longmeadow and to this end prohibit disturbance of certain areas.   The Conservation Commission is charged with administering and enforcing the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act within the town.  All proposals to build, grade, fill, or otherwise alter lands within 100 feet of a wetland or within 200 feet of a river or perennial stream must be reviewed and approved by the Commission before any work can take place.

More information about the Wetlands Protection Act, the Rivers Protection Act, and their associated regulations, including the forms needed for filing with the Commission can be found at the web site Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
