Business Certificate Information and Forms

Dear Business Owner,
Massachusetts state law,
Chapter 110, section 5,
requires business owners to file a business certificate every four years with
their respective city or town clerk. Failure to do so is punishable by a fine of

You may download the appropriate form(s), prepare it and mail it to the address
listed below. Please list the name and address of your business, as well as the name(s) and address(es) of the person(s) or corporation conducting the business.
This office will fill out the expiration date, which will be four years from the
date that the form is registered with us. Non-residents doing business in
Massachusetts also pay a $25.00 extra fee, under the provisions of Chapter 227,
section 5A. Business Certificates are processed between the hours of 8:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The filing fee for this registration is $30.00. Forms of payments are as
follow: cash, bank check and business checks. Receipts are given with all transactions.
No personal checks. Please note that your signature(s) must be notarized
before you mail it to us, and make your business check or money order payable to
the Town of East Longmeadow. Our mailing address is as follows:
