If you want to pick up the copies at the Town Clerk's Office, please call first and they will be ready when you arrive.
HOW TO FILE MARRIAGE INTENTIONS
Both persons filing for a
marriage certificate must be appear in person to fill out paperwork
Arrive at the Town Clerk’s
Office 8:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday to file your intentions.
Bring a photo I.D. with you
and $40.00 to cover filing fee.
The license will be issued 3 days after Intentions are filed.
The marriage must take place anywhere in Massachusetts during the sixty (60) days following the date of filing Intentions.
Both persons must be eighteen (18) years of age.
If under eighteen (18) a court order is required. The couple should bring their birth certificates when applying for a license.
After the marriage the clergyman or Justice of the Peace will file the original marriage license in the place where it was issued.
A pre-marital blood test is not required effective January 28, 2005.
