The Internet is a great source of information, but sometimes it just doesn't have the quality or depth of information you need. Your East Longmeadow Library card provides free access to commercial databases containing newspaper and magazine articles and specialized sources with in-depth information. Below is the list of resources, including brief descriptions and links. If you need help accessing any of these resources, please contact the Information Services Desk at 413-525-5400, ext. 158.

Biography Resource Center
Use this database to find information on over 400,000 people, current or historical, who are prominent in art and literature, business, current events, entertainment, government, history, multicultural studies, politics, science, and sports.

An extensive collection of critical essays on contemporary writers and their works.. Each entry contains a biographical/critical introduction, a list of principal works, and sources for further study.

An online readers' advisory service, for children, young adults and adults, that helps you find new books based on books you've read or topics in which you are interested. NoveList provides enhanced subject and keyword access to over 135,000 fiction titles. In addition, there are also book discussion guides for many titles popular with book discussion groups.

Educator's Reference Complete
Access a selection of more than 450 full-text academic journals, hundreds of full-text reports, and many premier reference sources. Included content focuses on educational principles, child development and psychology, and best practices in education. Majority of the full-text titles included are also found in the ERIC database.
