LIBRARY

We have a great library at Mountain View School. In addition to almost 8,000 books and magazines our library is equipped with four student computers that allow the students to search for books of interest and research topics using a special OPAC program. Books are checked out for two weeks at a time with unlimited renewals. There are no fines for overdue books however fees are charged for lost or damaged books.
We are constantly updating our library collection with the help of our PTO sponsored fundraisers and the generous donations of our school families.
Students are also able to check on the availability of books at any public library by accessing C/W Mars from a school or home computer. A direct link may be found by visiting www.eastlongmeadowma.gov and selecting library. The World Book Online Reference Center and several newspapers are accessible through that site also. A library card is necessary to use the online reference center.
This year our Celebration Book Club will begin in February for Valentine’s Day. More information will go home with students on February 1st.

Author and illustrator, Ruth Sanderson spent a day at MV in October. She shared her love of illustration with our students during three grade level assemblies. To learn more about Ruth and read a great Springfield Newspaper article about her visit please follow the link below:
