Board of Selectmen Meeting

PRESENT: John Claffey, Chairman, Board of Selectmen; James Driscoll, Chairman, Board of Health.

ABSENT: Gary DeLisle, Clerk of the Board.

Chairman John Claffey opened the meeting at 5:39 p.m.

BOARD OF SELECTMEN

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Request Elegant Affairs; re: Saturday, August 27, 2005 6:00pm – 1:00am, St. Luke’s Orthodox Church, 400 Prospect Street, for a Wedding Reception.

a) One Day Liquor License.

b) Temporary Food Service Permit.

c) Entertainment License.

Motion J. Driscoll moved the BOS approve each request. J. Claffey seconded out of necessity.

Discussion: J. Claffey stated that all paperwork is in order. Motion approved, 2-0.

2. Correspondence from Town Accountant, re: Employee Assistance Program:

J. Driscoll read a memo from Sandra Choquette, Town Accountant, into the Minutes. The BOS discussed the Town Accountant’s recommendation to switch the Employee Assistance provider from Longview Associates to the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Agency. It was noted that the switch is expected to save about $14,000.00 with no negative effect on services to employees and, since this is not a bargained benefit, the BOS can vote to implement the switch.

Motion J. Driscoll moved the BOS vote to authorize the Town Accountant to switch the Town Employee Assistance Program from Longview Associates to the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Agency. J. Claffey seconded out of necessity. Motion approved, 2-0.

Motion J. Driscoll moved the Board of Selectmen adjourn. J. Claffey seconded out of necessity.

Motion approved, 2-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
