EAST LONGMEADOW SELECTMEN DECLARE FIRST WEEK OF MAY AS HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEK

The East Longmeadow Board of Selectmen has announced that May 1, 2004 through May 8, 2004 has been declared Historic Preservation Week in the Town of East Longmeadow.

Acting upon the suggestion of Merle Safford of the Friends of the Norcross House, the Board of Selectmen believed this to be an important designation for the Town. “Our community has a great deal of history worth preserving,” said Gary DeLisle, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen. “Like many New England towns, we have many historic houses and structures with a rich history and the Board of Selectmen is proud to join with towns all over the country in recognizing the gems within our borders.”
