SELECTMEN MOVE FORWARD WITH POLICE CHIEF SEARCH;

CHOOSES POLICE CHIEF SEARCH CONSULTANT

      The Board of Selectmen took another step forward in their search for a Police Chief by choosing a consultant to assist them with the Police Chief Search process.

At their March 31st Selectmen’s Meeting, the Board agreed to enter into negotiations with Municipal Resources Inc. (MRI) to assist them in this process.  They will be discussing the entire scope of services to be provided and to discuss with MRI their price proposal within the next couple of weeks.

      The Selectmen discussed the need to have assistance in the search process, citing the importance of choosing the right person for the community.  “This is probably one of the most important positions in the Town and our choice will likely have a long-term impact on our Town and the Police Department,” said Kimberly Wiezbicki, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen.  “We wanted to ensure that the consultant chosen to work with the Town understood our needs and that the Board would be comfortable working with them.”

      Ms. Wiezbicki was later recognized for her service to the Town.  Her term as Selectmen expires on April 13th.  Ms. Wiezbicki had chosen not to run for reelection and is expected to be succeeded by James Driscoll.
