The Town of East Longmeadow is proud to announce that the Town has been awarded an educational mini-grant from the Springfield Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) advisory board aid for their recycling efforts.
“The Board of Health has always been committed to its recycling program in town and we take these efforts very seriously,” said Gary DeLisle, Chairman of the Board of Health. “This grant will go a long way in keeping our program successful and we are extremely proud of the recycling efforts made by the residents of the town.”
"The
Board of Health submitted the grant in order to aid the Town in publicizing our
recycling program" explained Kimberly Wiezbicki, Chairman of the Board of
Selectmen. "The Town will purchase recycled paper for our Recycling
Information Booklet" she continued. "The Town will also
publicize the information on our website (http://www.eastlongmeadow.org/trash.htm)
which helps to reduce our use of paper.
The cost of recycled paper is now much less expensive than traditional
paper, resulting in a nice savings for the Town" she concluded.
The
town has just received their shipment of recycled paper and the 2004 East
Longmeadow Trash Schedule is now available in Town Hall and available on the
website at http://www.eastlongmeadow.org/trash.htm. Residents are encouraged to obtain a
copy.
“The Board of Health is committed to improving our
efforts,” said Selectman John M. Claffey.
“Any suggestions that citizens would like to make can be addressed to
the Board of Health at 525-5400x420.
Remember that we are always looking for volunteers who would like to
assist the town in our recycling efforts.”
