TOWN PROVIDES FREE

RECYCLING BIN STICKERS

(East Longmeadow, MA) The East Longmeadow Board of Health has announced that large recycling stickers are now available in the Selectmen’s office for residential recycling use.

“The residents of East Longmeadow have been extraordinary in their recycling and many people have found that the blue recycling bins are not large enough for their recycling needs.  Since the Town had run out of recycling bins, this new program will allow residents to use just about any container (box or barrel) to dispose of their recyclables,” said John Claffey, Chairman of the Board of Health.  “Last year, we applied for and received a grant from the Department of Environmental Protection to obtain these recycling stickers for the town residents.  The residents can use these large green stickers to clearly designate any container as the recycling collection container,” continued Claffey.

The Town’s trash collection company, Waste Management, has advised that residents can use just about any container with the exception of 55 gallon metal barrels that may make the container too heavy to lift.

Recycling stickers are available at no charge to any Town resident at the Selectmen’s office.
