BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Thursday, April 6, 2006, 5:00 P.M.

Selectmen’s Meeting Room

Town Hall East Longmeadow, MA 01028

PRESENT: John Claffey, Chairman, Board of Selectmen; James Driscoll, Chairman, Board of Health; Gary DeLisle, Clerk of the Board.

Rich Paige, Chairman, Recreation Commission; Daniel Burack, Chairman, Board of Public Works.

Chairman Claffey called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

INTERVIEW, RECREATION DIRECTOR:

5:05 p.m. Carolyn L. Porter

Carolyn Porter and the Board Members exchanged greetings.

Motion J. Driscoll moved the BOS enter into executive session for the purposes of interviewing Carolyn Porter for the position of Recreation Director, to reconvene in open session. G. DeLisle seconded. A roll-call vote was taken, (Driscoll, “Yes;” DeLisle, “Yes;” Claffey, “Yes.”)

Motion carried 3-0.

BOARD OF SELECTMEN

NEW BUSINESS

Fire Contract

G. DeLisle presented the BOS with copies of the contract between the Town and the East Longmeadow Permanent Firefighters, Local 2426 for approval and signature. The contract will be in effect from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.

Motion G. DeLisle moved the Board of Selectmen approve and sign the contract as presented.

J. Driscoll seconded. Motion carried 3-0.

The ES to send signed copies to the Union and Town Labor Counsel.

Donation of sick time from John Whalen to another Town employee.

The BOS noted that past practice allowed for Town employees to donate some of their sick time to other town employees that run out of their own due to extended illness. The BOS to send a letter to J. Whalen thanking him for his generosity.

Motion G. Delisle moved the BOS adjourn the meeting. J. Driscoll seconded. Motion carried 3-0.

Meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
