FLAG DAY OBSERVANCE ANNOUNCED

The Board of Selectmen today announced that a ceremony to observe Flag Day will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Flagpole on the grounds of Town Hall.

The event will feature the dedication of a Flag donated to the Town by Mrs. Margaret M. Wright. Mrs. Wright donated the Flag in memory of her husband, Mr. Corliss H. Wright. Mr. Wright served his country in World War II. He was a 59-year resident of East Longmeadow and was active in town affairs, serving on the Finance Committee for 15 years. Mr. Wright was also active with the Lions Club and Boy Scouts.

James D. Driscoll, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, will preside over the ceremony. Members of the Fire, Police and Public Works Departments will also participate. The public is cordially invited.
