Recreation Director

The East Longmeadow Recreation
Department is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the full-time
position of Recreation Director.
Previous Director is retiring after a 31 year career. Qualified applicants will have experience in
providing professional management and administration in preparing,
coordinating, and implementing an overall community recreation program. Duties include recruiting, training, and
supervising staff; developing and administering budgets; maintaining records;
and performing public relations functions for the department. Hours for this position vary based on
programs, community needs and meetings.
Applicants must have excellent communication, computer, customer service
and organizational skills and the ability to work cooperatively with various
organizations and other town departments.
Certified Pool Operators (CPO) certification is required. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related
field and five (5) years in supervisory capacity, or equivalent combination,
required; certification by the National Recreation and Parks Association
desirable. Salary range is $44,096.31 to
$51,817.12 annually. A full job
