Community Preservation Committee Public Hearing

 

            The Community Preservation Committee today announced that it will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hearing Room, East Longmeadow Town Hall, 60 Center Square, East Longmeadow, Massachusetts 01028.  The purpose of the hearing will be to solicit citizen input regarding the preservation and use of open space in the community, development of affordable housing opportunities, historic preservation and recreation opportunities of various types.   All members of the public are invited.

            The Community Preservation Committee and Fund were established with the passage of the Community Preservation Act by voters during the annual election of 2006.  The Community Preservation Fund will be used to enhance opportunities for the town to designate land and resources for open space, recreation, historic and housing usages.

            Citizens unable to attend the hearing are encouraged to send their written comments to:
