COUNCIL OPENINGS IN EAST LONGMEADOW

The Board of Selectmen announced today that it is accepting applications for appointment to two councils: The Council On Aging and the Cultural Affairs Council.

The Council on Aging opening is designated for a person under 60 years of age. The Council on Aging advises the Board of Selectmen on the policies and operations of the Senior Center. The Senior Center is undergoing a major renovation designed to assist in fulfilling the social, cultural, educational and other needs of East Longmeadow’s vibrant senior community.

The Cultural Affairs Council recently expanded its membership and has one opening available. The Cultural Affairs Council promotes cultural and artistic opportunities in East Longmeadow, oversees activities at the Little Red School House, and manages and distributes grant funding provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council in support of local cultural and artistic endeavors.
