ELCAT ANNUAL REPORT FOR
2003
To the Members of the Board of
Selectmen and the Residents of East Longmeadow,
The East Longmeadow Cable Access Television, Channel 5,
has experienced some changes during 2003 and is looking forward to an exciting
2004. In collaboration with the
East Longmeadow School Department, ELCAT will be offering a course for high
school students looking to extend their learning from their years at Birchland
Park Middle School.
ELCAT was established as a community-based station and
depends on its volunteer base for taping community events. Residents interested in school, senior
center, and recreational sports activities have volunteered their time to tape
events. We would like to increase
the amount of programming of these community events that deserve to be shared
with the residents of East Longmeadow.
East Longmeadow has many community organizations and
businesses that will be able to take advantage of sponsoring programming to get
their message out to the town residents.
Training programs on camera use and editing, offered in the past, will
once again be available to residents interested in getting community events on
the air.
Finally, we would like to thank our past chairman, Paul
Paschetto, and our part-time studio manager, Ben Durant, for their time and
talents over the past six years and wish them both success and happiness in
their future activities.
Respectfully submitted,
