ACCOUNTANT'S REPORT
To the Board of Selectmen:
Fiscal Year 2003 has been a very busy and challenging year. The Town has made
many changes to overcome the State Aid shortfalls. Collectively all departments have
worked together to reduce expenses and create new sources of revenue. The Accounting
Department made changes to the current phone contract, carrier and lines and saved the Town
an estimated $20,000.00 per year. We also are looking at a Centralized Purchasing System to reduce
current expenses by buying in volume and with contract pricing to receive the lowest price.
I know next year will be just as challenging and my department will do everything we can to
manage budget reductions without effecting current services.
I would also like to thank my current staff for their dedication and professionalism everyday.
With their support and commitment we have overcome many obstacles and changed all
manual procedures to fully automate our department.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandra Choquette
